A mobility clause is a term in your employment contract that lets your employer require you to work at a different location. If your employer genuinely needs to use it for a real business reason, rather than to force you out, moving you under it is not automatically a dismissal or a redundancy.

In practice

In the Dhami case, the employer relied on a mobility clause to redeploy staff to a different role or site instead of making them redundant, which meant the usual redundancy process and payment did not automatically apply.
