A right, not yet in force, for zero-hours and low-hours workers to be offered a contract reflecting the hours they’ve actually worked over a reference period, under reforms in the Employment Rights Act 2025. Workers can accept the offer or stay on their existing terms.

In practice

A hotel housekeeper who has consistently worked around 25 hours a week on a zero-hours contract could, once this right is in force, be offered a contract guaranteeing those hours instead.
