Written particulars are the core terms of your employment that your employer has to give you in writing, usually including your pay, hours, holiday entitlement, and job title. They’re one of your most basic legal protections, and your employer is required to provide them early in your employment.

In this case, an employer with no written particulars in place couldn't show what pay and deduction terms had actually been agreed, and that gap counted against them at tribunal.
