The minimum weekly earnings threshold that used to decide whether you qualified for Statutory Sick Pay at all. It was removed from 6 April 2026, so your earnings no longer affect whether you qualify, only how much you get.

In practice

Before 6 April 2026, an employee earning below the Lower Earnings Limit got no Statutory Sick Pay at all. That threshold is now gone, so earnings only affect how much you get, not whether you qualify.
